Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V, which is better known as KLM is a flag carrier of Netherlands. Headquartered in Amstelveen near its hub at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, the airline operates passenger as well as cargo services to approximately 130 destinations. The airline is the oldest airline in the world to be operating under its original name and is a part of Sky Team Alliance. The airline merged with Air France in May 2004 but both the airline continues to operate under their distinct brand name.

KLM was set up by Albert Plesman on 7 October 1919 and started operations on 19 May 1920. The first route served was the Amsterdam-London one, flown with DH.9As that carried just two passengers on a charter basis. Two Fokker F.IIs that were delivered in September 1920, were later deployed on this very first route. Intercontinental flights were started with Fokker F.VII equipment in November 1924, serving the Dutch East Indies, although it was not until 1931 that regular services on this line were implemented. It normally took 11 or 12 days to complete the 9,000-mile (14,000 km) long flight between Amsterdam and Batavia, calling at Budapest, Athens, Cairo, Baghdad, Bushire, Jask, Karachi, Jodhpur, Allahabad, Calcutta, Akyab, Rangoon, Bangkok, Medan and Palembang. In 1926, the Rotterdam–Amsterdam–Copenhagen run was extended to Malmö.
KLM was first served in May 1933, when it was taken over from KNILM and added as an intermediate stop for the Amsterdam–Batavia line. By April 1934, Berlin, Hamburg and Liverpool were already part of the European route network. In May that year, KLM became the first airline that linked Continental Europe with the North of England, when the Amsterdam–Hull route was inaugurated; the Amsterdam–Liverpool service was re-routed via Doncaster in mid-1936.
With an intermediate stop at Espinho, the Amsterdam-Lisbon route was opened in April 1940. Initially, these flights carried freight and mail, connected at Lisbon with Pan American Airways Clipper services to New York and had a subsidy from the Dutch Post Office.

Economy class: Passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item. Maximum Dimensions: 21.5in x 10in x 13.5in/55cm x 25cm x 35cm (length x width x height) and Maximum Weight: 26 lb/12 kg.
Business class: Passenger is allowed to carry on two bags and one personal item. Maximum Dimensions: 21.5in x 10in x 13.5in/55cm x 25cm x 35cm (length x width x height), and a smaller bag of 18in x 8in x 13.5in/45cm x 20cm x 35cm and Maximum Weight: 40 lb/18 kg
2) Checked Baggage:
Economy class: 1 piece not exceeding 50.5 lbs/23 kg and 62in/158 cm (length + width + height) Business class: 2 pieces not exceeding 70.5 lbs/32 kg and 62in/158 cm (length + width + height) each
Flying Blue Silver, Gold and Platinum members; Sky Team Elite and Elite Plus members: one extra piece based on their travel class.
Economy class passengers can bring 2 pieces of check-in baggage when travelling to the Carribean, Indian Ocean, South America (Ecuador and Brazil), Africa or French Polynesia.
3) Oversize Baggage:
If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees.

KLM airlines unaccompanied minor service is mandatory for children between 5-14 years. Children between 15-17 years are not required to travel as unaccompanied minors, but the service is optional for this age group as well.
Children under 5 years of age are not allowed to travel unless accompanied by an adult who is at least 15 years old if traveling to/from the U.S., Canada or Mexico.
Fee for an unaccompanied minor is 50-90 euros depending on the destination and whether or not the trip includes transfers.

I had a medical emergency and couldn't make my flight. I had all the documents from my doctor stating my medical emergency. I talked with the manager Adam Bell and he worked with me to help me with making it right. Adam Bell is an excellent manager with great customer service skills!
